How the Block is Made

We start out with an excellent vitamin, mineral, and salt package. About 50% of our trace minerals are chelated – broken down outside of the body and connected with a protein which makes it very bio-available to the animal. There are many good vitamin and mineral packages on the market today and this is a must for good animal health.

What begins to set us apart is how we choose to dispense the vitamins and minerals. Most of the products in the market place are dispensed on a molasses carrier. SweetPro has a patented process that combines Dried Distillers Grains Solubles and Condensed Distillers Solubles in a way that forms a hard block. The ethanol process is very similar to that of a cow or horse – they take the grain run it through a hammer mill, liquefy it, add enzymes, and ferment the starch out. The result is the carrier of distillers grains is “pre-digested” therefore virtually 100% of the product is available for animal benefit – whereas a percentage of grains or molasses (starches and sugars) need to go to the digestion process to change it into a form that the animal can utilize. Sugar and starch also have a Negative Associative Effect on the fiber digesting bacteria in the rumen or cecum. We use no urea in our products so all of our products are completely safe for horses.

While the distillers grain carrier set us apart from the competition, our digestive aid, ProBioTein, is a new nutritional technology that is gaining a lot of interest. SweetPro has gone back into a similar process that was mentioned above but instead of using corn like the ethanol plant do, we use wheat, oats, barley malt, and flax to give a wide amino acid (building blocks of protein) profile. Once the starch is fermented out, SweetPro blends the ProBioTein back into the block with out heating it. This brings the enzymes and yeast in a live state (so that the will continue to do their work inside your animals) and the prebiotic feeders (what the fiber digesting bugs like to eat) into the block. The distillers grains carrier and ProBioTein have a Positive Associative Effect on the fiber digesting bacteria in the rumen/cecum.

SweetPro is designed to match your forage to be a complete balanced ration. No other supplementation is needed. When using SweetPro at a pound of consumption per head per day you can expect your animals to get 25% more digestible energy and nutrients from your forage – this is improved digestion! This means that on mature cattle (average body score) you will find that your animals eat 25% LESS hay and pasture! 1 pound of SweetPro replaces 3.5 pounds of grain or range cake!

When it comes down to the bottom line, SweetPro delivers. We strive to Maximize Animal Health; Maximize the use of your Forage; and Maximize your Profits!
